I hope you haven’t given up great fellowship or community dinners for Lent, because today’s events might just break your resolve.
After the 5 p.m. service—where Donna Dong will be preaching and where we’ll partake in communion—we’ll be celebrating our friendship with Christ and with each other at our monthly EAT meal. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be fantastic (though I may be biased, since my small group is in charge of preparations this month—though, despite my deepest wishes, we will not be serving you on rollerskates). Not only will you be able to share a tasty meal with your friends and fellow congregants, but you’ll be treated to tonight’s Canada/U.S. hockey game on the big screen, starting at 7:40 p.m.
I know people who aren’t leaving their houses tomorrow because of this game. I assure you it will be several thousand times better in the warm glow of community and whatever you just ate for dinner. Invite your hermitic friends!
